No, Really!

🌅 Happy Today, Friend!

Let’s start at the very beginning. A very good place to start!

But in this case, we’re starting at the beginning of the day – today –  and all the other todays to follow.

From now on, when the sun rises and you wake up, consider that you have been reborn! Realise that you have been given another chance to have a good time and to do good in this world.

Henceforth, when the sun sets and you go to bed, reflect on something you are really happy about that occured or that you became aware of since the sun rose this morning.

Can you show me yesterday? Can you point to tomorrow? Let me know if you manage it.

Are your memories anything other than present time spent reminiscing? (Which is a lovely thing to do from time to time)

Are you plans and dreams anything more than present time spent procrastinating and prevaricating around the bush? (These are great to have, IF they push you to powerful, productive action, every day)

Every time you are being nostalgic or imagining some amazing fantasy future, your precious present moments are slipping through rour fingers like sand in an hourglass.

The point is, it seems to me that the only time we have to do anything is right now. No, REALLY, Right. Now. And that’s always the case. It’s been said before, it’ll be said again, and there’s probably a good reason for that!

Here at Today’s The Day, I strongly and lovingly encourage you to treat each day of your life like… a Mini-Life! At the end of each day – each Mini-Life – make sure there is something you are pleased with, however great or small, it really doesn’t matter.

Celebrate being alive every day. The event could be a landmark such as getting a new job or passing an exam, but those are exceptions. The most powerful Today’s The Days are those little things that we often don’t notice.

Try saying things like:

Today’s the day I give a daisy to my loved one and her eyes lit up with pleasure.

Today’s the day I finished a great book called “The Forty Rules of Love” and ordered a copy on Amazon for a friend that I think will love it.

Today’s the day I started drinking a big glass of water with lemon on waking; it felt great!

Today’s the day I took a different route to work and discovered an adorable little bookshop and tearoom called Tattered Pages.

As you do this, you will start to build up a feeling of well being and the sensation that you are making the most of your days (and hence your life).

When you get to the end of your very last Mini-Life – the end of your Big-Life, in fact – you will be OK with that. You’ll have reminded yourself daily that you’re living good days, and you’ll know you have been happy and made others happy too.

In fact, your Today’s The Days which involve you making someone else smile are some of the best of all. That’s all.

I invite you to post your ‘Today’s the day…’ in our Facebook group as often as you like. And comment on other’s TTDs too. Thank you for being part of this and for choosing to live a great life, loving every sunrise to sunset, today and every day.
